Share your knowledge and peer-tested strategies from learning and development leaders like you will help the life sciences training community prepare for tomorrow’s challenges. LTEN seeks sessions that reflect sound adult learning principles and the best thinking in the field, informed by theory, research and practice.

LTEN Annual Conference Workshop & Learning Lab Guidelines

Please read this document carefully.
All guidelines and information requested is supplied within.
  • Workshops are 60 minutes in length
  • Learning Labs are hosted in the Exhibit Hall and are 20 minutes in length
  • Workshops and Labs will take place on June 13-14, 2023 at the JW Desert Ridge, Phoenix, AZ.

Description and Learning Objectives

The session description and learning objectives are critical since they are the basis for how conference attendees will choose which sessions to attend.

  • The description should be specific and succinct so that readers can quickly grasp what the session is about and how it will help them.
  • The learning objectives should be concise and clear and offer achievable goals that will give participants new information or ideas.

Workshop Formats

You will need to select one of the following formats upon submission:

  • Interactive Discussion: Sessions should be interactive, providing innovative content without the excessive use of PowerPoint or lecture style format. Sessions should provide in-depth coverage on a particular topic rather than trying to cover too much general material.
  • Skills Development: Sessions provide the “nuts and bolts” on a variety of issues in learning. The format may incorporate hands-on learning or be discussion focused.
  • Case Study: Pharma, bio, device, and diagnostic companies share their first-person accounts of strategies and programs that work.
  • Thought Leader Panel: Experts and practitioners offer similar and opposing views on relevant topics in training. Includes meaningful Q&A time.
  • Best Practice Roundtable: Informal format provides the opportunity to network and share challenges, resources, and approaches to tackling a hot topic or specific area of interest.

You will be asked to supply the following information for each workshop:

  • Session Description (500 words or less)
  • Session Format (see descriptions above): Best Practices Round Table, Case Study, Thought Leader Panel, or Skills Development

Share knowledge on a variety of hot topics, latest technology trends, best practices and case studies.

20 Minute Micro-Learning session delivers bite-sized content to learners that they can consume all at once and apply the knowledge immediately.

All accepted workshop presenters must register for the LTEN Annual Conference.

  • Each content leader must register for the conference and may use the discount code for $200 off the price of registration, which will be provided upon notification of selection.
  • Those registered at the time of selection will not be eligible for a refund for the speaker’s discount.
  • Presenters will be responsible for all individual travel and lodging costs. In the event of exceptions (such as Exhibitor staff) registration may be handled differently.
  • By registering for the 2023 LTEN Annual Conference, you:
    • Acknowledging that an inherent risk of exposure to COVID exists in any public place where people are present and you voluntarily assume all risks related to potential exposure to COVID.
    • Certify that you are fully vaccinated against COVID. Proof of vaccination will be required onsite at the conference.

All presenters must complete our COVID liability waiver.

The Life Sciences Trainers & Educators Network (www.L-TEN.org) is the only global 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization specializing in meeting the needs of life sciences learning professionals.
